Profession changes in Warlords of Draenor

Have you already touched Level 100 in WOD? What about your profession? New recipes, crafted gear, vanity items, consumables, Garrison buildings, etc—do you know them well? Actually, Professions in Warlords of Draenor have many changes. While Warlords professions will not have combat perks tied to them, there are a ton of neat things you can craft, plus Garrison buildings to help you get crafting materials.

Here you can see a summary of general profession changes from the former expansion.

Ø  You can create Draenor-quality recipes at skill level 1. No more having to level with old-world materials!

Ø  Your Garrison buildings let you craft certain recipes even if you don’t have that profession learned--including epic gear from max-level buildings. Players with the corresponding profession can craft more items including ways to upgrade epic gear and mounts.

Ø  Having a Garrison building for your profession is useful as a building's Work Orders can generate reagents needed for your crafted items.

Ø  To increase your max skill cap to 700, you complete a short questline that starts from a world drop (decently high chance to drop), which rewards a scroll—or buy the scroll for 100 in Ashran or your Garrison building once you have the profession trained.

Ø  When you learn this profession scroll, you also learn several recipes, including a daily cooldown for a currency that lets you buy recipes and a cooldown to create crafting reagents. This scroll also teaches your ecipes that generate Draenor gear which you can craft at skill level 1.

Ø  You can only wear 3 Draenor crafted items at once, but you can upgrade them several times to lvl 665 (armor) or lvl 655 (weapons).

Ø  Even though you can make some Draenor-quality items at level 1, there are additional perks for hitting 700 plus some professions have additional cool things like mounts!

Ø  Professions no longer have combat perks tied to them. This is so that they feel like a personal choice and less like a compulsory thing for min-maxing.

Ø  Garrison buildings can enhance your professions—you can have up to three buildings generating materials for different professions.

Ø  Completing Draenor Master, obtaining 700 points in a profession, rewards the Artisan title.
